Thoughts from Scooter:
The team came well prepared to the gym today. You could tell they were ready to play from the second they walked in the gym, very focused. A nice solid warm up where we found a good rythym and then we started the match very strong. We served VERY well making the other team work hard and move, however our passing struggled although not horrible. We passed a 1.7 as a team but only had 3 zero passes (shanks). Both of our outsides did very well hitting a .750 (Maline) and a .375 (Bailey). We had wonderful serving from everyone but especially Cortney/Dannen/Tasi/Maline. Rae ran the floor very well keeping everyone involved and the other team guessing. Kaitlyn had a wonderful performance in the middle and all around we had a good team effort. Next up is Puget Sound (the team that we lost to in the finals last year in Salt Lake). We play at 3:45.
Thoughts from Cortney and Dannen:
well we woke up bright and early to the cloudy, rainy day. our hotel had pretty much the best hotel-breakfast we have ever seen/consumed... the chocolate waffles were especially delicious. yummy. martha delivered us safely to the convention center... she has a surprising ability to drive huge 12-passenger vans really fast. for our first match as a team, we played exceptionally well together and we kicked some butt. on the way home scooter almost killed us... he was disapointed that nobody screamed. while in the car we were eating lunch.. but our sandwiches were squished. :) once we got back to the hotel, we watched step up 2. again. after that.. well it pretty much brings us up to this minute.. so toodaloo. thanks for reading.
